How a Relationship Healing Spell Restores Broken Trust

Most spell casters never tell you what actually happens during a love spell ritual. The process is kept deliberately mysterious — either because there is nothing to reveal, or because genuine practitioners have reasons to maintain appropriate discretion about specific ceremonial details. I will share what I appropriately can, because informed clients make better spiritual partners in this work.

Why Most Spell Casters Don’t Explain Their Process

There are two very different reasons a spell caster might avoid explaining what happens in their rituals.

The first reason is that nothing actually happens. For fraudulent practitioners, the “ritual” may consist of nothing more than lighting a generic candle and collecting payment. Describing this process in detail would expose the emptiness. Maintaining mystery is protective camouflage.

The second reason is legitimate: certain ceremonial details are sacred and appropriately kept within the initiated community. Specific invocations, specific material preparations, specific sequences that carry spiritual power through their precise performance — these are not shared publicly for the same reason that a doctor does not publish the specific formulations of their prescriptions. The knowledge has power, and the power requires appropriate handling.

I navigate between these two considerations: sharing enough to give you genuine understanding of what authentic ritual work involves, while maintaining appropriate discretion about the specific ceremonial details that are sacred.

Before the Ritual — The Preparation Phase

Authentic ritual work does not begin when the candles are lit. It begins days earlier with a preparation process that most clients never see but that is essential to what follows.

The preparation phase involves:

  • Practitioner preparation: I undertake specific spiritual preparations that align my own energy with the work to be performed — fasting where indicated, prayer and meditation, specific purification practices. A practitioner who performs love ritual without this preparation is like a surgeon operating without scrubbing in.
  • Material preparation: Candles, herbs, oils, and other materials are gathered and consecrated — ritually prepared to carry the specific intention of the work. This preparation process takes hours and involves specific prayers and protocols.
  • Spiritual assessment: In the days before the ritual, I continue to assess the spiritual landscape of your situation — noting any shifts, sensing the energetic field around you and the person involved, and ensuring that the approach selected in the consultation remains appropriate.
  • Timing preparation: The optimal ritual time is selected based on moon phase, spiritual calendar, and the specific nature of the work.

Creating the Sacred Space

The ritual itself begins with the creation of sacred space — a designated area that is spiritually cleansed, properly arranged, and formally dedicated to the work being performed. This involves:

  • Physical and spiritual cleansing of the space using smoke (often white sage or frankincense), prayer, and ritual tools.
  • The arrangement of the altar — a structured arrangement of materials that serves as the focal point for the spiritual work.
  • The creation of a protective perimeter — ensuring that the spiritual space is protected from outside interference during the work.
  • The placement of the relevant Lwas’ ritual symbols and offerings, formally inviting them into the space.

The Invocation

Before the core work begins, the relevant Lwas are formally invoked — invited into the sacred space as co-participants in the ritual. This invocation follows specific traditional protocols: songs, prayers, and offerings unique to each Lwa being called.

For love work, this typically involves invoking Erzulie Freda (romantic love and attraction), and sometimes Erzulie Dantor (deep commitment), Ogou (removing obstacles), and the ancestral lineage (providing foundation and witness). The invocation is not metaphorical — in my experience, the Lwas’ presence in ritual space is perceptible as a change in the energy of the space itself.

The Working — The Heart of the Ritual

The core ritual work is where the specific intention is enacted through the combination of prayer, sacred materials, and the Lwas’ participation. For love spell work, this typically involves:

  • The formal statement of intention — spoken clearly and specifically, naming the people involved and the specific outcome sought.
  • The working with specific materials — candles anointed and lit, herbs combined and prepared, symbolic objects arranged and activated.
  • Extended prayer work — sustained, focused petition to the Lwas on behalf of the client and the specific situation.
  • Energy transmission — the practitioner serving as a channel through which spiritual energy is directed toward the specific energetic outcome sought.

The duration of this phase varies by the complexity of the work — from an hour for simpler workings to several hours for complex cases.

After the Ritual — What Happens Next

After the ritual concludes, several things happen:

  • The candles are allowed to burn down completely — or maintained under careful supervision over multiple days if the work requires extended burning.
  • The ritual space is respectfully closed — the Lwas thanked and bid farewell through specific closing protocols.
  • Materials from the ritual are disposed of in spiritually appropriate ways — each type of material has its appropriate disposal method in Vodou tradition.
  • I begin monitoring the situation — staying attentive to signs of movement in the spiritual field around your situation and reporting what I notice to you.
  • Follow-up communication with you — checking in on what you are observing in the physical world, which provides important information about how the spiritual work is manifesting.

What You Are Doing During This Time

Your role during the ritual and the manifestation period that follows is important:

  • Maintaining positive emotional energy to the degree you are able — anxiety and desperation create energetic static.
  • Staying alert to subtle signs of movement without obsessive monitoring.
  • Continuing to live your life normally and taking good care of yourself.
  • Maintaining appropriate contact with the person involved — neither excessive reaching out nor complete silence.
  • Reporting what you observe to me so we can assess together how the work is manifesting.
